Hey friends!

The last two weeks of October went by in such a blur! I wanted to update everyone on our recent happenings. On October 22,  I went to Arkansas to surprise my grandpa for his 90th birthday. I had a lot of fun seeing my family and celebrating such a momentous birthday! Here are a few pics of the shindig!

The family!
I can't wait to be able to spend more time with them over Christmas vacay!

Last Sunday, we had trunk or treat at Sojourn and had so much fun! Ryan and I dressed up like pirates and decorated our car like a pirate ship. Here are some pics of the event courtesy of our friend Kara!
Arrrg!!

Great friends
There was a great turnout and we saw some really great trunks! I'm already looking forward to next year. We had several kids think we were real pirates and I'm pretty sure one little boy thought I was going to take him with me to work on our pirate ship.

I'm hoping that I will be able to post a couple tutorials of crafts that I've done. I've already taken the pictures, I just need to sit down and write it out! I think I'll do a series of DIY gifts since Christmas is right around the corner! Crazy!

Hope you are all doing well!

Loves,
Amy

Happy New Year!

I still split up my year into semesters and breaks. Thanks school for messing up my calendar. Even though it is August, it feels like a new year because everyone is going back to school now. I really enjoy this time of year. Mostly because school supplies are super cheap and I can stock up on my crafting materials! I took some time yesterday to think about the last year and how much has changed. August 9th marked our 1 year anniversary of moving to Louisville. We've lived outside of Arkansas for a WHOLE YEAR. Crazy. I remember last August and how stressed we were from the move and applying for jobs. I remember how lonely we were because we didn't have many friends here yet. I remember the fun long drives we would take exploring Louisville (we still do this on occasion). Today, we have a wonderful new apartment and great jobs. We have AMAZING friends that are practically family. And I think I know Louisville better than I know Little Rock! Thank you Lord for so many blessings!

Ryan will start his second year of seminary tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited! He is doing so well in his classes. All A's so far. I am such a proud wife! I took a break from taking SWI classes last sememster so that I could take a women's systematic theology class through Sojourn with some very lovely ladies. This semester I will be resuming SWI and taking a parenting class with some of the same girls. I'm very excited about this upcoming class. I'm so thankful for Southern Seminary!

This is a pic of the library on campus last fall. SBTS has an amazingly beautiful campus.

I did some fun craft projects this past weekend as well. I plan on posting one super easy project that I did in my next post. I hope to do many more projects that I find on Pinterest. I'm kind of addicted to that site. I've gotten so many ideas for decorating our apartment and I can't wait to put them in motion! We've had family in town since we moved into our new place (for the last 3 weeks) so I haven't been able to do too much as far as decorating goes. I'm actually still trying to unpack all the boxes! I'm very close to getting all of our junk belongings put away so hopefully I can start "prettifying" everything soon!

I'll leave you all with some pictures of our recent excursion to Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN. We took Ryan's little sister, Amber, there as her birthday present from us. We had such a great time!

For the record, Amber is not grumpy, that's just her default silly face. Ha!

Hope everyone has an amazing week!

Fall so far...

I love October. It is probably my favorite month. So far October has been WONDERFUL in Louisville. Sorry for the lack of update folks. This one should be full!
This weekend Ryan's grandparents came to visit us and we had such a wonderful time! We always love when they come to visit. This weekend was also Ryan's and my 6 monthiversary. It's crazy to think we've already been married 6 months! I'm so blessed to be married to my best friend. As our gift to ourselves (and from Grandmama and Granddad) we got a futon for the living room. Sadly our couch couldn't make it through our apartment door so for the first few months we only had a love seat. We decided to get a futon so that we could solve our awkward seating problem and be able to have friends over (finally!). After Ryan and Granddad put it together, we rearranged our apartment and it looks so much better and more like a home. We love it! Hopefully pictures will come soon!
In the time since the last update a lot has changed. I got a job. (yay!!) I now work for Unique Integrated Communications which is essentially a call center for a library. It's a new company and I was one of the first employees hired. It feels so great to be a part of building this thing from the ground up. Ryan has also gone from being a floating teller to being at a permanent branch. He was so excited and we're both very happy that he will only have to go to one location every week!
Since the last post we have also found a church home. We became members of Sojourn Community Church on September 11 and we have loved every minute of it. Most of the friends we have made up here also go to Sojourn and we're so blessed to experience to great community. Praise God for putting us in such a wonderful new church home!
I also want to say CONGRATULATIONS to my brother and new sister-in-law for their recent wedding ceremony. They got married in May, but didn't get to have a real wedding ceremony. Sadly, I didn't get to go home to see it, but I heard it was awesome. They are also expecting a baby the first week of May 2011. I'm not gonna lie when I say I can't wait to be an aunt! That poor baby is going to be spoiled! :)

I'm sorry again for the lack of updates folks! I will try to be more diligent and post pictures too!

God Bless,
Amy
